Nazi-Punchers SPACE WESTERN COMICS "Spurs Jackson and His Space Vigilantes in 'Tomorrow the Universe' "

Note: Curiously, there's no mention of the Martians, including their (of course) beautiful princess, Spurs and the Space Vigilantes had already encountered in previous stories!
Yeah, it's just business as usual for Spurs and his crew!
Written by Walter (The Shadow) Gibson and illustrated by Stan Campbell, this never-reprinted, beyond bonkers, tale from Charlton's Space Western Comics #45 (1953) was part of a pop culture trend in sci-fi fantasy that included movies like They Saved Hitler's Brain, and even a Twilight Zone episode, "He Lives!"

Nazi-Punchers SPACE WESTERN COMICS "Spurs Jackson and His Space Vigilantes in 'Madman of Mars' "

You've seen Cowboys and Indians, Even Cowboys and Aliens...
...but cowboys and Nazis...in outer space???
To Be Concluded, Appropriately, Tomorrow!
Written by Walter (The Shadow) Gibson and illustrated by Stan Campbell, this never-reprinted, beyond bonkers, tale from Charlton's Space Western Comics #44 (1953) was part of a pop culture trend about Adolf Hitler surviving to the (then) present in sci-fi fantasy that included movies like They Saved Hitler's Brain, and even a Twilight Zone episode, "He Lives!"
The comic itself, a mashup of Western cliches and the flying saucer fad of the 1950s set in the then-present, ran only six wacky issues before reverting to its' original title, Cowboy Western Comics!
As for how cowboy rancher (and US government vendor) Spurs Jackson ended up in outer space, well, you can read the beginning of his stellar saga HERE!

Russkie-Smashers CAPTAIN ATOM II "Crisis"

Remember the Good Ol' Days...

...when we would negotiate with other countries, and they were the ones who were untrustworthy?
I miss those days...

Written by Joe Gill and illustrated by Steve Ditko, this is a short-but-sweet tale from Charlton's Space Adventures #40 (1961) about beating the Russkies at their own game of deceit and deception by utilizing something...or rather someone...they don't expect!

Commie-Clobbering Kaiju GORGO "Deadlier Than Man" Part 1

Besides Konga, another cinematic kaiju who battled Commies in comic pages was...
...who was also published by Charlton, and who was often illustrated by the legendary Steve Ditko!
Let's look in on the mother and son who frightened the world for 26 issues during the 1960s!
Don't worry, the kaiju cavalry is coming!
Good thing JFK didn't have to deal with kaiju along with the Cubans and Russians during the real-world Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962, eh?
Writer Joe Gill and artist Steve Ditko continue their interpretation of those events from Charlton's Gorgo #14 (1963)...

Commie-Clobbering Kaiju KONGA "Evil Eye" Part 1

We Begin Our Countdown to Halloween 2024 Blogathon participation with a non-Asian Kaiju...
...who began "life" as the star of a 1961 British movie!
To Be Concluded TOMORROW!
Konga (1961) was one of England's two entries into the blossoming kaiju genre begun with the coming of Gojira (aka Godzilla) in 1954.
(The other was Gorgo (1961), who also had an American comic adaptation from the same publisher as Konga...Charlton Comics!)
Steve (Spider-Man/Dr Strange/Captain Atom II) Ditko illustrated the first issue of Charlton's Konga, which adapted the movie, then some, but not all, of the two sequel series which ran 25 more issues!
Besides battling other kaiju and extraterrestrials, Konga fought humans, including Commies (both Russian and Chinese) as in this issue, #15 from 1963, illustrated by Ditko and likely written by Charlton workhorse scripter Joe Gill!
