Written by Walter (The Shadow) Gibson and illustrated by Stan Campbell, this never-reprinted, beyond bonkers, tale from Charlton's Space Western Comics #45 (1953) was part of a pop culture trend in sci-fi fantasy that included movies like They Saved Hitler's Brain, and even a Twilight Zone episode, "He Lives!"

...but cowboys and Nazis...in outer space???

Written by Walter (The Shadow) Gibson and illustrated by Stan Campbell, this never-reprinted, beyond bonkers, tale from Charlton's Space Western Comics #44 (1953) was part of a pop culture trend about Adolf Hitler surviving to the (then) present in sci-fi fantasy that included movies like They Saved Hitler's Brain, and even a Twilight Zone episode, "He Lives!"
The comic itself, a mashup of Western cliches and the flying saucer fad of the 1950s set in the then-present, ran only six wacky issues before reverting to its' original title, Cowboy Western Comics!

Space Western Comics (the ORIGINAL Cowboys vs Aliens) returns...

...once more with Spurs Jackson and His Space Vigilantes battling Commies...piloting a flying saucer!

(Hey it was the 1950s!)

Sadly, the Russkies didn't even salvage a crashed alien ship and retro-engineered it's tech.

It's just a disguised Flying Wing...which both we and they were working on at the time.

(We were also working on our own flying saucers, but don't tell the Russkies!)

Art was by John Belfi, with a script by Walter (The Shadow) Gibson!.

Russkie-Smashers SPURS JACKSON AND HIS SPACE VIGILANTES "Battle the Red Menace Beyond the Moon"

Blackhawk and his crew weren't the only ones to discover Russkies on the Moon!

A bunch of average all-American cowboys who were zipping around space in flying saucers (as shown HERE) also found them!

This seldom-reprinted (once in b/w in 1992) tale from Charlton's Space Western Comics #43 (1953) was written by Walter (The Shadow) Gibson and illustrated by Stan Campbell.
Considering how poorly the Russkies are doing in Ukraine, it's doubtful they ever could've mounted an attempt at lunar conquest!
