Reading Room: JET DREAM "Ting-a-Ling--Enemy Agent!"

While we sit here freezing, our fave femme fatales are on the beach...
...unfortunately, not in bikinis!
(Aren't those jumpsuits warm?)
It's too bad these stories were limited to 4 pages at a time, posing a real challenge for writer Dick Wood.
This story from Man from U.N.C.L.E. #10 would've benefited from another 2-4 pages of kick-assery in the inimitable penciling style of Mike Sekowsky, who, sadly, did only one more Jet Dream tale (Which we presented on our "sister" blog, True Love Comics Tales™).
Joe Certa illustrated most of the remaining stories, including the one-shot full-length comic, with Jack Sparling contributing our next Jet Dream tale, which we'll be presenting after the New Year.

  1. Ah-so that's how she joined them. Never seen this story. We only got to see Jet fighting Kong in the end and have to imagine the team beating up the rest-one of the few times I've noticed in this strip where the lack of space harms the story a bit.
They should do a Jet Dream movie!
    Please keep these coming.

  2. Yeah, that 4-page limit gives new meaning to "Wham! Bam! Thank you, ma'am!"
8 to 10 pages would've been ideal, but with the Man from U.N.C.L.E. story being 27-28 pages (and it was HIS book), there was literally no room!
Ironically, the Jet Dream one-shot comic feels a little "padded". Go figure...
Look for a new (as in never-reprinted) Jet Dream story every couple of weeks.
