Reading Room: JET DREAM "Super-Tiger of Targan"

It's Labor Day, but there's no rest for our favorite femme fatale...
..as she goes on the hunt in this short story from Man from U.N.C.L.E. #9 (1966)!
Ah, the Swinging Sixties, when a story like this actually seemed plausible...
Though the story by Dick Wood is silly, it's made quite palatable by the Mike Sekowsky/Mike Peppe artwork.

  1. This story appeared in "The Man from UNCLE" annual in the UK for 1967. I was given it for Xmas 1967. The annuals reprinted strips from the Gold Key comics and featured new text stories as well. This story introduced me to the wonders of Jet Dream and her Stunt-girl Counterspies. I'd never seen an all female crime fighting team before.

There were 3 "Jet Dream" stories republished in the annuals, this one, "The Powder Puff Derby caper", (1968) and "The set up Sultan"(1969).

I love the crisp artwork, far superior to a lot found in comics today. The writer seems to have a fondness for the word "dizzy".
